Library Introduction

MKCE Central Library, established in the year 2000, is spread over 10,346.5 sq. ft. and serves as a valuable resource for students and faculty of engineering, technology and management. The library has built a robust collection of over 61,894 books.

The Library provides access to the best of digital resources through its subscription to various databases consisting of scholarly and industry-relevant content. It has amazingly good collections of Directories, Yearbooks, Biographical sources, Textbooks, Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Handbooks, competitive exam books, and Tamil novels.

The library has subscribed to 94 National Journals, 113 International Journals and 50 Magazines along with full-text online databases like IEEE, Springer, Elsevier-Science Direct and Sage (Management).

All in-house operations are fully computerized using Library Software IMPRES ERP powered by Dolphin Software Solutions under surveillance through RFID Security E-Gate and CCTV cameras. It provides 24×7 access to return books and automated book issue with KIOSK Self Issue Systems.

Library Rules & Regulations

General Rules

  • Identity Card is compulsory for getting access to the library.
  • Silence to be maintained.
  • No discussion permitted inside the library.
  • Registration should be done to become a library member prior to using library resources.
  • No personal belongings allowed inside the library.
  • Mobile phones must be switched off inside the library.
  • Users are requested to handle library materials with care.
  • Any damage or loss of library material shall be the responsibility of the borrower.

E-Access

The library provides digital access to a wide range of e-resources including IEEE, Springer, Elsevier-Science Direct and Sage databases. Students and faculty can access these resources through the campus network.

Library Membership Details

All bonafide students and faculty members of MKCE are eligible for library membership. Students must register at the beginning of each academic year to access library resources.

  • UG Students: 4 books for 14 days
  • PG Students: 6 books for 14 days
  • Research Scholars: 8 books for 30 days
  • Faculty Members: 10 books for 30 days

About Our Hostels

We have separate hostel for boys and girls. They are also permitted to use their own computers in their rooms. The mess is spacious with a dining hall and kitchen. Separate seating arrangements are made for both boys and girls. All hostels are equipped with solar water heater for hot water supply. The in-campus State Bank of India and Axis Bank ATM's available, which renders tremendous help to students in fees payment and money withdrawal.

A fleet of well-maintained buses connecting the campus to major towns and cities across the region.

Bus Facility

We are providing college bus service from various prominent locations all over the city to the college. We have a fleet of buses to cater to the transportation needs of students and staff. The bus picks up students outside the city as well as near the college and drops them at the same point each day.
